Change Is coming

The day just broke,
Thought the dawning light would dispel hopeless hope.
I just woke, my dreams lie scattered,
A puzzle with missing many pieces
'When would each jagged corner align?' I ask,

I’ve tried.
Oh, I’ve tried so hard
That my spirit aches,
My feet feels numb and refuses to move.
My will is bound like a bird stuck in invisible bars

“Change will come,” many say,
But these words like empty rain, fall wetting my ears surface, but never seeping in.
"Hold on," they urge,
"Time will tell" their voices surge
But waiting feels like drowning,
And I’m done gasping for air
Really.... I'm done.

So, I Arise
I'll say to my soul "I will bring change."
I will not wait for the tide to turn
I will wade into the waters deep and wide
With scared and trembling hands I'll dare
Stretch for all things my heart holds dear
