Kemi Badenoch Took Rachel Reeves Apart — And Exposed the Truth Behind That Catastrophic Budget

If there was one moment that defined this Budget, it wasn’t Rachel Reeves’ shaky delivery, the nervous glances at her notes, or the hollow applause behind her.

It was Kemi Badenoch calmly, surgically and devastatingly dismantling every line of Reeves’ fantasy economics — to the point where Reeves genuinely looked like she was about to burst into tears.

Kemi didn’t need theatrics.
She just needed facts.
And Reeves had none.
Kemi’s demolition job went like this:
▸ “You said working people wouldn’t pay more.”

Kemi listed the stealth taxes, the frozen allowances, the punishing hikes that Reeves tried to bury in the small print.
Reeves had no comeback — because it was true.
▸ “You promised bills would fall, not rise.”
Reeves looked down.
Everyone knows bills are going up again in January.
Ed Miliband’s green taxes are biting hard.

Reeves pretended she didn’t know — Kemi exposed she absolutely did.
▸ “You inherited an economy growing faster than any G7 nation.”
Then Kemi hit her with the killer blow:
“…and in six months, you have stalled it.”

ONS data now confirms growth has been downgraded for the entire Parliament.
Under Reeves.
Because of Reeves.
▸ “You punished workers while protecting waste.”

Reeves froze pensions, froze allowances, floated fuel duty hikes, ballooned welfare spending, and shoved a multi-billion pound black hole onto every taxpayer.
And somehow tried to claim this was ‘fair’.
Kemi exposed the truth:

It was incompetence dressed up as compassion, and even Reeves couldn’t defend it.
Reeves didn’t just deliver a bad Budget. She delivered a national embarrassment.
She came in claiming to be the “Iron Chancellor”.
She left looking like someone who’d been handed a calculator for the first time.

A Chancellor who:
promised no new taxes and delivered the biggest stealth tax raid in years
promised cheaper bills but delivered price hikes
promised stability but triggered economic downgrades
promised honesty but hid everything in footnotes
And then had to watch Kemi Badenoch shred it all in real time.
If this Budget is the best Rachel Reeves can do, she should resign before she does any more damage.

Kemi exposed her.
The country saw it.
And Reeves is finished — even if Labour won’t admit it yet.
